Why Animals Matter So Much to Us

Desirae Shie

Animals have always been a part of my life. I grew up with horses, domesticated deer, goats,

a miniature donkey, a pony, cats, bunnies, and dogs. Over the years, my family has rescued orphaned cats, saved and released wild bunnies, my daughter and her friends run a lemonade stand in our neighborhood every summer to donate their money to the local animal shelter, Berea ARF, and our current 2 year old puppy was adopted from Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter. Animals and the love and respect I have for them, has always been a part of my life and family.

I’m a single mom who works a full time job, going back to school to get my Masters, have a daughter who plays softball and is incredibly active. So, if anyone can understand needing a little help sometimes, I do. This is why it’s so important to me to offer help to other families and households with their pets. I understand needing to find reliable help that’s affordable. I understand wanting to give your pets the absolute best, and everything they need, so they can be healthy and continue to live a long life with you.

Pets are incredibly beneficial to have in your life. According to the National Institute of Health in an article from 2018, they shared the health benefits to having pets. These include:

  • Decrease stress levels

  • Improve heart health

  • Lower blood pressure

  • Better moods and/or decreased loneliness

  • Aid in the emotional and social skills in children

  • Help children with attention disorders

The HelpGuide provides even more proof to support that there are many benefits to having pets. Two of the most important being unconditional love and companionship for people of all ages.

This is why DogsLove2Run is so committed to helping the community and their furry friends. Healthy pets equal healthy humans. If we can do anything to even provide a little help with exercising to our neighborhood and their family pets, we’re committed to do so.

Please leave a comment below to let me know your pet’s name and if there is any way we can help with exercising your furry friend for you! Also please let me know your thoughts on my blog post and how I can improve, I used MailChimp for help!
